This evening the South Tyrolean biathlete communicated through a Facebook post that she decided to end her racing career.

"Today my son turns 10 and just today, after many years dedicated to biathlon, I decided to close my competitive career - wrote Karin - The motivation and pleasure I feel in practicing biathlon is still great, but with today I choose to dedicate myself to the family because I feel satisfied and proud of the results I have achieved and of all that I have lived up to here ".
So ends the career of an athlete who has made the history of Italian biathlon, winning a bronze medal in the World Cup start Kontiolahti and winning the medal with the relay mixed with Sochi 2014. In the future the Olympic medals could become two, in in case Olga Vilukhina should be disqualified. In the last season Karin had resumed the competitive activity, making some appearances in the IBU Cup, but without ever landing in the World Cup.
