In these years BjÃ¸rndalen has established the record of victories (95) and podiums (179) in individual top-level biathlon competitions and has won 28 gold medals between the World Cup and the Olympics, as well as 6 General World Cups. Beyond that we must not forget the longevity of the athlete, able to win an Olympic gold at the age of 40 and to be competitive until last year. As explained by the person concerned, the last season was a bit of a torment and the summons to the Pyeongchang Olympic Games did not arrive. Now we wonder what will be the new role of Ole in the biathlon world, some voices would like him as the next president of the IBU (International Biathlon Union), but he himself said he needed some 'time to reflect on the future.
