Some news in the Azzurri squad: the technical staff decided to experiment, to arrive at the Pokljuka world championships with clear ideas. Lisa Vittozzi was deployed at the launch, after which we will see Federica Sanfilippo, who usually played the role of "finalizer", Michela Carrara and Dorothea Wierer. Nicole Gontier is therefore excluded, while Irene Lardschneider is at rest after the efforts of Oberhof. In the three previous seasons, Italy obtained a 6th and a 5th place, in addition to the 15th place obtained in Thuringia. The goal is to confirm the results obtained in Kontiolahti and Hochfilzen.

All four are in a typical formation, the Swedes have never dropped from the podium but seem to be in a slight decline in condition, while the French are on the launch pad. In case of missteps by the big names they will be able to say their Russia, solid in all four fractions; Belarus, on the podium in Oberhof; Ukraine, starting with a quartet of veterans.
