LIVE from Oberhof: Eckhoff and Roeiseland, it's a stellar challenge in the women's Sprint. Wierer in search of continuity

At 2.30 pm the start of the second of the Oberhof Sprint, the sixth of the 2020/21 World Cup. Wierer leads a patrol of four blue: in addition to Vittozzi and Lardschneider there is in fact the return of Federica Sanfilippo. At the top of the standings the all-Norwegian duel between Eckhoff and Roeiseland is renewed.

Mars Roeiseland wears the yellow-red bib as leader of the general and specialty classification, a record obtained thanks to the continuity on excellent levels shown up to now. However, the victory in the format is still missing, obtained instead (twice between Hochfilzen and the first Sprint of Oberhof) by Tirill Eckhoff, who will try to conquer the sixth seasonal success and bring her compatriot in the standings. In the season, besides her, only Hanna Oeberg and Alimbekava managed to get on the top step of the podium in a Sprint. Among the blue eyes focused on Dorothea Wierer, competing with bib 39. The holder of the crystal ball is looking for continuity after the excellent comeback in the last Pursuit. So far the Sprints have been Doro's Achilles heel of the season and a good result could be the best springboard to Antholz and the World Championships. With the 47, Lisa Vittozzi will be at the start, who will have to sweat the qualification for the Mass Start on Sunday. Sappadina is in fact currently 26a in general close to Hettich and Mironova and with a good margin over Blashko.
