The Aosta Valley has signed a four-year contract with the national transalpine, where he will be coach of the men's team.

"I could not say no, it was an opportunity too tasty. Coaching one of the best teams in the world and a champion like Fourcade is a challenge and an incredible stimulus - said Favre in an interview with La Stampa -. I'm four years ahead of me because I signed for the next four-year Olympic period. Fourcade is an excellent shooter as well as the whole French team. I will have time to take the measures because the previous technician, Frank Badiou, will support me at least for the whole summer. In this way I will be able to get to know the environment well before taking my method and thinking of helping Martin and the other biathletes ".
Patrick then leaves the Italian national team to join his brother Christian, who has been skilled by Martin Fourcade for years, across the Alps, where he will work with Vincent Vittoz, the new head coach of bleus in place of Stéphane Bouthiaux.
