Pokljuka 2021: the Startlist of the women's Sprint. Wierer and Vittozzi in the first group but with high pectorals

Tomorrow at 2.30 pm the start, with five blue present: Dorothea Wierer, Lisa Vittozzi, Federica Sanfilippo, Irene Lardschneider and Michela Carrara. Roeiseland defends the title won last year in Anterselva and the top of the overall standings of the World Cup.

As happened for the men's race, all the most accredited athletes to get on the podium chose the first group, including Vittozzi and Wierer, who however drew the last two bibs available, 35 and 36. Only the race will tell us if the fate was benevolent or not with the blue, who can still have an idea of the situation and the times of the opponents. To open the race will be the Czech Marketa Davidova who will precede Dzinara Alimbekava (3), Denise Herrmann (7) and Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (9). Marte Roeiseland, reigning world champion, has the 11th and will start a few minutes before her main opponent, compatriot Tiril Eckhoff (18). Shortly after it will be the turn of Lisa Theresa Hauser (25), while Hanna Oeberg will be competing with bib 31, just before the Italian. In the second part of the race, eyes focused on the other blue ones: Sanfilippo (49), Lardschneider (82) and Carrara (94), but also pay attention to Susan Dunklee (71), silver medalist in Anterselva, and Anais Bescond (66), that from the rear could surprise everyone, emulating what Simon Desthieux did in the Men's Sprint.
