Friedrich and Jamanka German domination in the first leg of the bobsled World Cup

Germany dominant in Sigulda in the first stage of the bobsled World Cup. The German national team has in fact made the 'en-plein of successes in the three races scheduled, thanks to the double affirmation of Francesco Friedrich in the two rehearsals of two men's bobsled and the victory of Mariama Jamanka in the women's competition.

The first seasonal weekend of the bobsledding circuit opened with the women's race, where the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Champion and her Annika Drazek brakeman had virtually no rivals. The Italian team did not take part in the World Cup weekend, making their season debut at Altenberg in the European Cup circuit. The driver Patrick Baumgartner has collected a 13th place together with the debutant braking Alex Essoh Atchori, while in the second competition in the program the 'South Tyrolean paired with Mattia Variola after the 12th place of the first descent did not take part in the final heat due to a technical problem.
