The men's national team won the first semifinal in history at the World Cup with a landslide 10-4 victory over Switzerland. The game actually ends on the first hand. Italy immediately marks four: Gonin's perfect guard point, Meier's two straight lines, Arman's double, Mosaner's failure and Retornaz's two gems! A 100 percent end. Almost perfect match of the blue quartet that goes to the interval at 7-3, before the Swiss surrender in the eighth. The Italians all close with percentages above 90%. The victory streak thus rises to 6.

After the initial 7-1 of the Swedes, which effectively closed the game, Team Retornaz recovers up to 7-4 without however grasping the feat.
