Italy defeated against Canada in the debut of the world championships.

The quartet led by Stefania Constatini clearly yields 9-2. Now Japan and the United States to straighten the shot.

The blue adventure begins badly in Prince George in Canada, where the women's curling world championships have just begun. A subdued start by the blues allowed the home girls to take a decent advantage after the first two ends. Constantini's team then reacted by winning the tailor-made third end shortening the distance, but the overwhelming power of the Canadians then took over until the heavy 9-2 final after the sixth end in which the blue decided to abandon the match. The defeat with the Canadians aside, Constantini and his companions in adventure Marta Lo Deserto, Angela Romei and Veronica Zappone will be in Japan and the United States today. The goal is to win at least one of the two scheduled games and try to get back on track for the positions that matter. Both Japan and the United States came out on their debut winners against Turkey and the Czech Republic respectively.
