Joel Retornaz's Italy achieves two crucial victories that allow him to rise to the forefront of the standings. Heart-pounding match with Sweden.

After losing the opening match, Italy redeems itself with a couple of thick matches to change gears in the current world championships in Las Vegas.
In fact, with a spectacular double rejection Jöel Retornaz signs one of the most beautiful victories in the history of Italian curling, overcoming the Sweden of Olympic champion Niklas Edin by 10-8 thanks to 4 points in the tenth end at the World Championships in Las Vegas! Sweden, who have won the last 3 world titles, after having suffered 2 stolen hands at the start, with 3 points in the third seemed to have put the match in the right direction. Instead, the Azzurri played a last hand of goosebumps. Also noteworthy is the rejection with his second Amos stone which paved the way for the big end of four! It is the second time this season that Retornaz, Mosaner, Arman and Gonin overtake Edin and his team, after 7-2 in the group at the Lillehammer European Championships! With a 10-7 win over Finland on Matchday 2, Italy moved up to second place in the group. Today at 11 pm there is the challenge with the unbeaten Canada.
