The doors of Palafiemme di Cavalese have opened wide for the awarding of the best athletes from Fiemme who distinguished themselves in the summer 2021 and winter 2021/22 seasons.
The big party, on the initiative of the Fiemme World Cup Organizing Committee together with APT and the Territorial Community, with the support of the Autonomous Province of Trento and the patronage of the Magnificent Community of Fiemme, saw the awarding of those called up for the Olympics and Paralympics, the EYOF, the World Cup races, at the World Championships, and those who have conquered the podium at the Italian Championships.
Special guests the Olympic medalists Giacomo Bertagnolli and the guide Andrea Ravelli (gold in the slalom and super combined and silver in Super-g and Giant in Beijing 2022), Dorothea Wierer (bronze in biathlon), the "neighbors" of Piné, Pietro Sighel ( silver and bronze in the short track) and Cembra Amos Mosaner (gold in curling). The Palafiemme di Cavalese for one evening became the home of the champions, who received a flood of applause from the almost 600 spectators and the authorities present, first of all Roberto Failoni, provincial councilor for Sport and Tourism, flanked by numerous authorities such as the Commissioner of the Territorial Community of Val di Fiemme, most of the mayors of the Valle di Fiemme but also of Piné, accompanied by numerous councilors and councilors of the various municipalities, the representatives of the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme and the APT of Fiemme, Piné and Cembra , all the representatives of military sports and non-sporting groups, directors of the schools of Fiemme, presidents and advisers of the sports and economic associations of the Valley, of CONI, of the Paralympic Committee and of the national and provincial sports federations.
Funny, genuine and always smiling, the combinator of the Fiamme Oro, Annika Sieff, was welcomed as a real queen of the house after an amazing season: “I won gold at the Junior World Championships and the European Youth Championships. I ended the season with another podium in the World Cup, so very well - the words of the 18-year-old from Fiemme - It's nice to have recognition from your community too and to be here with all these champions is an honor for me, I only have to learning from them, they have achieved results that every athlete aims for ".
Endless applause when the adopted athlete from Fiemme, Dorothea Wierer, took the stage. "Doro" was overwhelmed by the warm hugs of her little fans looking for an autograph and a selfie: "It's always nice to see all these people - said the FFGG athlete - I know a lot of people because it's been several years now that I live here. It is nice to see that there are so many people who follow us and cheer us on, there are also so many children, who are the future of sport. I decided to continue for another year, the determination and the desire to do something are still there ".

Great satisfaction from the president of the Ski Promotion Committee in Val di Fiemme: “A great party for everyone: 68 awarded athletes, 30 former Olympic athletes including 6 Olympic medals, coaches and various commanders. Valle di Fiemme is a valley that knows how to join when there are big appointments and events. Sport unites regardless of age: we saw the 10-year-old girl with the 80-year-old former Olympian. It is truly something special ”.
Val di Fiemme is a constantly moving valley, where sport is conceived as a big party by the whole local community and volunteers who passionately make themselves available to organize high-level sporting events. “Road to Milan-Cortina 2026”: the countdown has also begun in Val di Fiemme, but in the meantime the next scheduled Tour de Ski appointment is being prepared, awaiting FIS ratification, on 6, 7 and 8 January 2023.
