Aosta welcomed its champions, on Saturday, to celebrate their triumphs and at the same time involve the many young protagonists in various disciplines.
The "2019 Olympic Day" saw the regional committee of the CONI Valle d'Aosta organize an event of a biennial nature, which rewards the Aosta Valley athletes who, between 2018 and 2019, distinguished themselves at national and international level .
Starting from Federica Brignone, departing on Monday to Copper Mountain, where she will prepare the next World Cup events after her good debut (5th place) in the giant of Soelden; the La Salle gigantist received a silver medal at athletic value for the bronze won at the Olympic Games in PyeongChang 2018 in her favorite specialty, while the gold medal went to Simone Origone, winner of the World Cup Speed skiing in Andorra last April, signing an extraordinary record with the eleventh crystal ball of his career.
Also present were the cross-country skiers Federico Pellegrino and Francesco De Fabiani, authors of a fantastic double in the sprint of the World Cup at home, last February 16 in Cogne. The vice world champion of specialty, among other things, received with Brignone the special recognition for what he did at the 2018 Olympics, where Chicco took the podium with the silver in the sprint.
