The President of the FISI, Flavio Roda, met in Aosta the President of the Region, Erik Lavevaz, the Vice President of the Region and Councilor for Economic Development, Training and Work, Luigi Bertschy, and the Councilor for Cultural Heritage, Tourism, Sport and Commerce, Jean-Pierre Guichardaz. Also present were the Federal Councilor Dante Berthod and the President of the ASIVA Committee, Marco Mosso. Among the main issues addressed during the meeting, which took place in the regional building, was the programming of the major winter sporting events that the Aosta Valley could host in the coming years: from alpine skiing, to snowboarding, to Nordic skiing. By giving continuity to the women's World Cup in La Thuile, to the snowboard cross appointment in Cervinia and trying to involve the other main Aosta Valley locations. At the center of attention is the Cervinia-Zermatt World Cup project, on which the Region is working in close collaboration with the federation, for the longest descent and the only national trans, which would become a reality from autumn. 2022. In addition to the Valle d'Aosta's vocation for international events, the representatives of the Region also stressed the availability of a plurality of plants and structures of the highest technical level, even in the smallest districts, which can be made available to the competitive athletes. Finally, in view of the start of the next winter tourist season, which in Valle d'Aosta will begin on October 16 with the opening of the Breuil-Cervinia ski lifts, the representatives of the Valle d'Aosta regional council and the FISI leaders have defined a common line to ask the national government for clear and certain rules for a restart of skiing in serenity and safety. During the day, Roda also visited the new headquarters of the ASIVA Committee, which moved about a year ago.
