Brignone beats Goggia, in the semifinal for the athlete of the century FISI will be a colossal duel with Tomba

The voting of the quarter-finals is over: for access to the final the two last Italian winners of the World Cup and, on the other side of the board, Dorothea Wierer against Gustavo Thoeni.

A couple of weeks and, on 6 October, the FISI will celebrate its centenary from birth in Milan. It will do so by electing, through a survey in collaboration with "La Gazzetta dello Sport", the athlete of the century (only living athletes who have participated in World Cup editions) from among the fifteen disciplines belonging to the Federation. A game that initially involved 32 names lined up in a tennis scoreboard, the winner of which is voted weekly by the readers of www.fisi.org and www.gazzetta.it. The time has come for the semifinals, for which we will vote from today until Sunday 27 September (click HERE to vote); to follow the final starting from Wednesday 30 September, with the announcement of the winner on the evening of 6 October. The top of the board will see two alpine skiing myths face off like Alberto Tomba and Federica Brignone, who respectively overtook the blue jets Kristian Ghedina and Sofia Goggia in the quarter-finals. In the lower part, Dorothea Wierer will find Gustavo Thoeni on her way, after the queen of biathlon has overtaken Piero Gros in terms of votes, while the ace of Trafoi got the better of Armin Zoeggeler.
