The Federation has made the nominations official: from today you can vote to choose the protagonist of the winter disciplines who will succeed Marta Bassino, winner in 2021, in the roll of honor.

It is a long awaited appointment that the blue women have dominated in recent seasons, if we think that the "FISI Athlete of the Year" award was won from 2017 to 2021 by Sofia Goggia (double), Dorothea Wierer, Federica Brignone and Marta Bassino, who triumphed a year ago with the ceremony that took place as usual in Skipass.
During the Modena fair (29 October-1 November) there will therefore be the award ceremony for the FISI home champion who will be chosen by fans for this 2022: 12 candidate names, announced this morning by the Federation of via Piranesi.
There are Federica Brignone, Sofia Goggia and Nadia Delago, the three blue medals in alpine skiing at the Beijing Olympic Games, the winner of the Ski Mountaineering World Cup, Michele Boscacci, but also the two reference points of biathlon and cross-country skiing Italian, also on the podium in five circles a few months ago, or Dorothea Wierer and Federico Pellegrino.
And then again Dominik Fischnaller, bronze in the luge single in Beijing 2022, Valentina Greggio who dominated the speed skiing season between the World Cup and world champion gold, as well as her colleague Simone Origone who put the crystal ball number 13 on the showcase career; Michela Moioli and Omar Visintin for snowboarding, they who climbed together on the Olympic podium (silver in the team test), and Valentina Margaglio who obtained the first historic podiums in the maximum circuit for the women's skeleton.
Voters can express their preference by sending an email to the address atletafisi@fisi.org; the voting phase will be divided into two parts, with the first opening today to end on Friday 30 September, at the end of which only the three most voted athletes will remain in contention. The second phase will open on Saturday 1st October and will end on Friday 21st October. It is possible to express only one vote for each of the two phases of the competition, any preferences repeated by the same email will not be counted.
