Franco Frattini, "honorary instructor" after having also led the Federal Technical School, has died

The President of the Council of State and former Minister of Foreign Affairs has passed away at the age of 65: the memory of the FISI.

Franco Frattini, a great lover of skiing and winter sports, who has always been close to the FISI, has died. A few months ago, President Flavio Roda awarded him the title of honorary instructor, after having also held the role of director of the Federal Technical School during his career. He was 65 years old, was president of the Council of State and had also held the position of Foreign Minister in the last government chaired by Silvio Berlusconi, from 2008 to 2011; before that he had been head of Italian diplomacy (always with Berlusconi) between 2002 and 2004 and minister of the public function in the government of Lamberto Dini. Frattini had also been European Commissioner from 2004 to 2008 under the presidency of Josè Manuel Barroso. In 1996 he was also elected deputy on the Forza Italia lists and then again in 2008 for the PDL. In the message from the Italian Winter Sports Federation, President Roda, the whole Federal Council, the athletes, technicians and staff said they were close to Frattini's family in this moment of grief.
