Winter EYOF, all postponed from February to December 2021 for the Finnish edition

The problems related to Covid have forced the appointment with the European Youth Olympic Festival to be postponed by ten months.

All postponed to the following winter season, hoping that the pandemic at that point will be (almost) a distant memory. After the Universiade, which will not be played in Switzerland in the 2020/21 vintage, the EYOF also raise the white flag: the appointment with the winter youth festival was scheduled, after the 14th edition staged in 2019 in Sarajevo , from 6 to 13 February in Vuokatti. The Finnish Olympic Committee has announced the postponement of the event by ten months, or to the dates of 11-18 December 2021 for the next edition of the European Youth Olympic Festival. "The Covid situation does not allow the smooth running of the event and it is not possible to guarantee the safety of the athletes and all participants for next February," said the CEO of the Finnish committee, Mikko Salonen. To be clearly established whether in December 2021 athletes aged between 14 and 18 will be able to participate in this 2020/21 season or in the next. The next edition of the EYOF will instead be hosted by Italy and Friuli Venezia Giulia, from 21 to 28 January 2023.
