"FISI 100 Celebration" took place in the morning, at Hangar Bicocca in the heart of Milan, with the first of the events planned to celebrate the centenary of the Italian Winter Sports Federation, and which will culminate this evening (starting at 19.00 in the hall of Sette Palazzi Celesti) with the election of the Athlete of the Century for the 15 disciplines of the FISI family.
It will be a challenge between Gustavo Thoeni and Alberto Tomba, who reached the final after an intense "battle" with the votes of fans in the poll launched in collaboration with "La Gazzetta dello Sport"; but it was the current Italian snow champions who kicked off the centenary celebrations, which will continue in the afternoon, again in the Hangar Bicocca area, with the traditional delivery of AUDI-branded cars to last season's best FISI athletes.
The morning Media Day saw Federica Brignone and Sofia Goggia present themselves in great shape, just over ten days after the opening in Soelden ("we can't wait to leave", they said in chorus), while they will have to wait several weeks more for the first World Cup season, both Dominik Paris, expected at his debut in Val d''Isère in December ("I'm fine and I'm back to training at good levels"), and as regards snowboard cross Michela Moioli, in defense of her third crystal ball won in the 2019/2020 vintage, and the cross-country and biathlon tips, namely Federico Pellegrino and Dorothea Wierer.
With Marco Tronchetti Provera, CEO of Pirelli, to open the event, the words of the federal president Flavio Roda are important, regarding the restart of the entire activity and the very delicate management of the Covid issue that will inevitably affect the competitive winter
