The company founded by CONI has formalized the figures to be disbursed for 2022 and the Italian Winter Sports Federation is penalized: the words of the president.

“Sport e Salute” has announced the amounts of contributions to the Federations for 2022, which have increased overall compared to the previous year and amount to a total of 288 million euros. For the FISI, however, the allocation is the same as that received last year. Immediate reaction of the President of the Italian Winter Sports Federation, Flavio Roda: "This time I cannot accept that the FISI is penalized - commented the number 1 of via Piranesi - If the total contributions increase, but we are attributed the same amount as the last year, it means that as a percentage we are given less money.
I really struggle to understand the criterion. We support all the activity, from that of the little ones to the high level - continued Roda - We are leaving a dramatic year due to the pandemic, which required greater outlays to keep everyone safe. We also made contributions to the Ski Clubs, so that they could restart with the activity. As a prize, Sport and Health does not recognize us anything more ".
"We are in the Olympic year - said the federal president - and we both have the standard-bearers in Beijing 2022, a sign that the successes of the FISI are of the highest level, our athletes are in all the newspapers because they win almost all the competitions of international level, we have young people growing, the Olympics are coming in Italy. We continue to talk about meritocracy, but looking at the distribution of contributions it seems to me that the criteria are different ".
And then again the lunge: “For years I have been fighting for the FISI to have the rank it deserves within the Federations, but it is still not like that. This time I cannot accept it and I will do everything to have the contributions changed. I remember that the Italian Winter Sports Federation represents 15 disciplines, of which 10 are Olympic and prepares the athletes who make up 80% of the Winter Olympic Games. In our history we have won 106 Olympic medals; in the last edition in Korea, our athletes wore six medals around their necks, two of which gold, including the first in history in women's downhill. I ask the top management of Sport and Health what we need to do more to have the consideration we deserve ”.
