Fans choose the Brignone-Goggia derby: you get to the heart of the athlete of the century FISI

The voting for the initiative in the context of the federal centenary brings the two blue stars to the quarter-finals, while Tomba and Ghedina will compete on the same side of the board ...

There are the two champions who have recently written the most beautiful pages of women's skiing (with the historic Olympic gold downhill and the first absolute World Cup), that is Sofia Goggia and Federica Brignone, but also two absolute champions of the 90s such as Alberto Tomba and Kristian Ghedina, to then arrive at two legends such as Armin Zoeggeler and Gustavo Thoeni, up to Dorothea Wierer and Piero Gros. Really not bad, the composition of the quarter-finals of the FISI initiative aimed at electing on October 6, for the centenary of the Italian Winter Sports Federation, the athlete of the century (only living athletes who have participated in editions of the World Cup) among the fifteen disciplines involved. A game that initially involved 32 names lined up in a tennis scoreboard, the winner of which will be voted weekly by the passionate readers of www.fisi.org and www.gazzetta.it; for the quarter-finals the vote will be held until Thursday 24 September (click HERE to participate), followed by the semi-finals and the grand final starting from 30 September. The top of the board sees two alpine skiing myths facing each other such as Alberto Tomba (three Olympic golds and two Olympic silver, a World Cup and the double world title of Sierra Nevada, as well as 50 victories in the top circuit) and Kristian Ghedina (thirteen victories in stages of CdM and the two downhill world medals), but the derby between Federica Brignone and Sofia Goggia is also to be enjoyed. In the lower part, the queen of biathlon Dorothea Wierer, winner of the last two absolute World Cups, finds Piero Gros (Olympic and world champion, as well as winning a World Cup), while Armin Zoeggeler (six Olympic medals in six different editions of the Games in the toboggan) will try to beat Gustavo Thoeni, who brings with him the historic four absolute World Cups and the Olympic and world titles. It will be fun...
