The 14 blues for the world roller ski championships in Latvia: it starts on August 8th

The summer appointment of the year will see a fierce national team, for the hunt for the medals in the Madona World Championships.

From next 8 August and until Sunday 11, Latvia will host the world roller-skiing championships. At the start, 14 Azzurri, including nine men and five women, defended the three gold medals won in Solleftea in 2017 by Emanuele Becchis in the men's sprint, Alba Mortagna in the women's sprint and the Armellini-Becchis couple in the sprint team. The same Becchis leads the male group, together with Matteo Tanel, Alessio Berlanda, Michele Valerio, Michael Galassi, Luca Curti, Francesco Becchis, Lorenzo Riccardo Masiero and Andrea Gartner. Among women, there will be Anna and Lisa Bolzan, Alba and Laura Mortagna as well as Lucia Scardoni. The competition calendar includes on Thursday 8 the male prologue on the 20 km in classic technique and the female one on the 10 km, followed on Friday 9th by the sprints on the 200 meters of both categories, on Saturday 10 it will be the mass start (20 km for men and 15 for women, in free technique), finally closing on Sunday 11 with the free technique team sprints.
