In a difficult year for tour organizers and promoters, who in many cases were first forced to postpone and subsequently cancel most of the sporting events, today the announcement of the organizing committee of "La Sgambeda" has arrived. .
The cancellation of the 31st edition of the fund's classic, scheduled for November 28, 2020, is official due to the new surge of the Coronavirus pandemic. "The health of athletes and companions must always be put first and in this case there would have been no conditions to ensure maximum compliance with the anti-Covid protocols issued by the Government", reads the note. The organizers regret having had to postpone this famous event to 2021, with goodbye to the obligatory next season, hoping to soon be able to host the skiers of “La Sgambeda” on the snow of Livigno.
The evaluation of the Visma Ski Classics circuit is currently pending, where daily talks with the Scandinavian organizers are underway. In the meantime, for those wishing to have fun with cross-country skis, Livigno announces that a first stretch of track will be ready from 30 October thanks to snowfarming and artificial snow.
