The charity auction in Cortina exceeds € 18,000 in fundraising in favor of the Belluno Hospital

The initiative of the Cortina 2021 Foundation ended with the trophies of the World Cup finals and the memorabilia of the champions purchased by fans.

A remarkable figure, 18,750 euros, for a highly successful fundraiser. The amount obtained in favor of the Belluno Hospital AULSS 1 Dolomiti, through the charity auction that the organization of Cortina created in April, giving away the trophies for the winners of the CdM finals , which have not been disputed due to Coronavirus, and some memorabilia that belonged to athletes from Ampezzo and beyond. The initiative aimed to support the main health facility in the province, engaged in the front line in the battle against Covid-19. Twenty-three auction days, hosted on the Italian digital platform CharityStars, with the fourteen splendid glass plates, handmade by the Pio Alverà glassworks, but also unique pieces made available for the occasion by great champions, all rigorously autographed for the occasion, like the Dainese ski helmet by Sofia Goggia winner in Cortina in 2018 or the bib worn in Kitzbuehel by Silvano Varettoni, passing through the Lange boots by Kristian Ghedina. The products offered by the partners of the Cortina 2021 Foundation and made for the World Cup finals were also very popular, such as Nordica's 100 Dobermann Spitfire 72 RB Cortina 2021 Limited Edition ski, or the 3-liter Jeroboam bottles with logo of the World Championships produced by the Prosecco DOC Protection Consortium. To support the charity initiative were many exceptional testimonials, starting with the president of Fondazione Cortina 2021, Alessandro Benetto, together with the ambassadors of Cortina 2021, Kristian Ghedina and Sofia Goggia, but also the conductor of Linea Bianca, Massimiliano Ossini , and the singer of the Pale Mountains, Francesco Vidotto. "We are very proud of the positive response that the many fans of Cortina and skiing have given to our initiative in support of the Belluno Hospital: they have all shown great generosity and participation - declares Valerio Giacobbi, CEO of Fondazione Cortina 2021 - Cortina 2021 he could not hold back on this occasion and we therefore decided to share the knowledge, relationships and skills available to us: our heartfelt thanks go to the partners and athletes who allowed us to carry out the auction , but above all thanks to all those who wanted to participate in the initiative by giving and demonstrating how the values of sport are always synonymous with solidarity, dedication and commitment, also in favor of the community we are part of and the territory that we are lucky enough to experience ".
