The FISI athlete of the century is Alberto Tomba: what a wonderful comparison with Gustavo Thoeni

In Milan, at the end of the "FISI 100 Celebration" event, here is the most anticipated announcement: the Bolognese was chosen by fans at the end of the one-month survey. Also present at the evening Malagò and Spadafora.

A simply wonderful “distance” comparison between two athletes who have written the history of Italian sport, not just of winter disciplines. "FISI 100 Celebration", the event that the Italian Winter Sports Federation organized to celebrate its centenary, ended with the announcement of the athlete of the century FISI, chosen from among 32 protagonists of the Italian history as regards athletes living and who have participated in at least one World Cup edition in one of the 15 disciplines under federal aegis. And in the final, the fans, through the survey launched by the FISI in collaboration with "La Gazzetta dello Sport", chose Alberto Tomba in the ideal duel with Gustavo Thoeni, the very one who drove the very champion from Bologna in his years of '' gold. It is really impossible to choose between two champions who have brought to Italy five absolute crystal balls, Olympic and world titles and marked two different eras, even if it is clear that the character Tomba has left an indelible mark, in the context of modern skiing, in the heart of the thousands of fans who voted. Albertone was present like all the blues of the various national teams (and many great former ones) in the hall of the Sette Palazzi Celesti which, at the Hangar Bicocca in Milan, hosted the closing evening of a full day dedicated to the FISI centenary, from Media Day morning at the various presentations scheduled with the Cortina 2021 World Championships in the front line, up to the final event which also saw the number 1 of Coni, Giovanni Malagò, and the sports minister Vincenzo Spadafora in the audience.
