FISI of Trentino has chosen the PalaLevico to raise the curtain on the 2021/2022 sports season, proposing "Fisi Event", or the double appointment to reward the athletes who distinguished themselves in the last sporting winter and to present the new competitive year , which always promises to be particularly full of events.
To celebrate the restart of the snow movement, coordinated by President Tiziano Mellarini, the president of the Giunta of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, the councilor for crafts, trade, promotion, sport and tourism of the province of Trento Roberto Failoni, the vicar vice president of FISI Angelo Dalpez, the president of the Trentino Coni, Paola Mora, then the president of the provincial council Walter Kaswalder, as well as the mayor of Levico Gianni Beretta and the director of the Apt Valsugana Lagorai, Stefano Ravelli .
All the interventions reiterated the need to continue skiing and racing, despite the difficult moment linked to the spread of the virus. But everyone focused on the next challenge that awaits the world of Trentino skiing, or the 2026 Olympics, an important event that for the provincial Federsci is a reason to work sparingly to nurture the most interesting young talents. Due to the health emergency of last spring it was not possible to propose the traditional appointment of the "Ski Festival" and therefore the provincial Federsci board decided to enclose the 2020/2021 celebratory moment and the presentation in a single event of the 2022 Agenda, which contains the calendar of competitions, regulations and all the information relating to the world of the 12 snow disciplines practiced in Trentino.
PIROVANO AND DE ALIPRANDINI
For the Trentino skiing movement, the 2020/2021 season will certainly remain in history above all due to the fact that for the first time a skier from the province has hit a medal at a world or Olympics in the alpine skiing sector. Thanks to Luca De Aliprandini, who lives in Riva del Garda, was able to wear an extraordinary silver in giant slalom at the World Championships in Cortina last February.
The numbers of the last ski season speak for themselves: with 33 athletes who participated in the world championships in various disciplines, 13 podiums at world level with one victory, 23 podiums in World Cup races with two successes, 10 podiums in the general World Cup, 7 podiums in the European Cup, 4 victories in the European Cup. As for the Italian championships, the medals won by the standard bearers made in Trentino were 142, of which 47 of the most precious metal. The protagonists? In addition to De Aliprandini, Laura Pirovano from Rendena, awarded today in Levico Terme after having found her smile, more than a month after the knee injury suffered in the pre-season that will cost the Italian sprinter the entire Olympic season.
And then Giorgia Felicetti, Davide Magnini, Lisa Moreschini and Federico Nicolini in ski mountaineering; Simone Deromedis and Andrea Chesi in skicross; Annika Sieff, Iacopo Bortolas, Domenico Mariotti and Veronica Gianmoena in the Nordic combined jump and combination; Fabio Longo and Alessandro Chiocchetti in cross-country skiing, Miro Tabanelli in freestyle, Tommaso Giacomel in biathlon, Mirko Felicetti in snowboarding and Filippo Zamboni in grass skiing, a discipline that is awarded for the 2020 summer season.
FISI AT THE GATE WITH MORE THAN 1000 RACES
The winter sports season is ready at the starting gate. And in particular Trentino, with its 78 skiers included in the national teams and as many as 149 boys who are part of the competitive teams of the various specialties, ready to make the leap in quality in a winter that everyone hopes will be marked by normality. There are many expectations from the point of view of results, but also as regards the major events that will animate the season, a total of 214, for 1057 category races, of which 79 international.
The top events, which will be held in Trentino, are contained in 18 appointments including World Cup, European Cup, International and Italian Championships. The Italian ski mountaineering championships at the beginning of December on the Paganella will open the dance. Also in early December, two female European Cup races in Andalo, the men's slalom on the Aloch and two free descents at Passo San Pellegrino with continental significance. Let's not forget the 3Tre di Campiglio on December 22nd.
Skicross European Cup then in Val di Fassa on 10 and 11 December. January is the month of the Nordic disciplines with the Tour de Ski on January 3rd and 4th and the Nordic Combined World Cup the following weekend. Among the international events, Queen Marcialonga will always be the ambassador of Trentino, as well as the two youth events Skiri Trophy and AlpeCimbra Fis Children Cup. As for the tricolor appointments, young appointments in Vermiglio with ski mountaineering, in Predazzo and Pellizzano with the special and Nordic combined jump, in Lago di Tesero with the biathlon, to finish in San Martino di Castrozza with the aspiring Italian alpine skiing championships.
