Blue women always protagonists: Brignone, Wierer, Moioli and Fontana nominated for the Gazzetta Sports Awards

The three winners of the World Cup nominated for the "woman of the year" award as part of the "La Gazzetta dello Sport" event. You can vote until 12 December.

In the most difficult year for sport, it is more important than ever to reward the champions who have continued to compete and give us great emotions. After the success of the previous editions and for the sixth consecutive year, the Gazzetta Sports Awards are back, the prizes of “La Gazzetta dello Sport” that celebrate the stars of Italian sport, with the patronage of Coni and the Italian Paralympic Committee. And among these, there will be four from the world of snow and ice, all extraordinary women protagonists of the last winter season. Readers remain the protagonists of this event and can vote until 12 December on gazzettasportsawards.it. the editor's favorite among the candidates, six for each of the eight categories. A quality jury, which will take into account the preferences expressed by fans, will establish the winners; the names of those chosen will be announced during the awards ceremony on 14 December in Milan. The evening, hosted by Geppi Cucciari, will be streamed on the gazzetta.it website and on the Facebook channel La Gazzetta dello Sport, and will subsequently be broadcast on LA7. In addition to the eight categories in the competition, the two legends Marco Belinelli and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will also be awarded, and a special recognition will be given by the Sportweek editorial team. Candidates for the nomination of “Man of the Year” are Gregorio Paltrinieri, Jannik Sinner, Filippo Ganna, Ciro Immobile and two protagonists of the world of motorcycles, the world champion Enea Bastianini and the vice world champion of MotoGP, Franco Morbidelli. Here, on the other hand, for the "Woman of the Year" award, there will be three Italians of winter sports among the six in the running: we are talking about Federica Brignone, the first Italian in history to win the Women's Alpine Skiing World Cup, Michela Moioli who has signed a legendary trio in snowboard cross and Dorothea Wierer, in turn at the second absolute crystal ball in biathlon and capable of a historic double gold at the World Championships in Anterselva. With them here is Elisa Balsamo, great protagonist of road and track cycling, the very young swimmer Benedetta Pilato and the judoka Odette Giuffrida. Among the other categories, namely coach of the year, team of the year, revelation, performance, Paralympic athlete of the year and "exploit of the year", in this last category we find two other "winter" nominations , again regarding Dorothea Wierer and the Olympic champion Arianna Fontana for her great return to the short track World Cup.
