Two new disciplines among the activities of a unique reality in the national panorama; Saturday celebrations in memory of Graziano Pollazzon.

A thirty-year long history and a future to be written. It is the history, it is the future of the Ski College Veneto Falcade, the Belluno structure that currently hosts about sixty young athletes, coming from different Italian regions, engaged in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and snowboarding which, thanks to the convention with the Follador - De Rossi institute, they can choose the course of study between the technical-technological institute, the technical-economic institute, the scientific high school, the scientific sports high school and the professional institute.
The Belluno structure, whose operations began between 1990 and 1991, was born thanks to the intuition and commitment of Graziano Pollazzon, physician and manager of Fisi, who believed, wanted and worked to create a reality that would allow the high school students to better harmonize the needs of the study with the competitive ones. The figure of Pollazzon was celebrated at the conference held in Agordo on Saturday and dedicated to “Ski College Veneto Falcade: 30 years of history projected towards the future”. Several representatives of the administrative and sports world took part in the initiative. At the speakers' table, Michele Costa, mayor of Falcade and president of the Agordina Montana Union, Davide Piol, vice president of the Youth Group of Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti, Claudio Dalla Palma, former official of the provincial school office, Fulvio Scola, coach head of the Italian men's cross-country ski team, Magda Genuin, cross-country ski Olympian, and Alberto Ghezze, competition manager of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics. Ski College has dedicated time and energy without saving - underlined Dalla Palma - The beginnings were not easy: a change of mentality was necessary to realize how the Ski College was a reality capable of growing not only young people but the whole territory ".
The importance of the link with the territory was also underlined by Michele Costa. On the contrary, the mayor of Falcade highlighted how greater awareness of what the College is on the part of the territory: “We have a Ferrari in our hands, but we use it as if it were a small car”, said the mayor. “The future of snow sports is played here, in the enhancement of these structures”, says Fulvio Scola, coach of the national team of the national team. Ski Colleges must become federal centers for the growth of children aged 15 to 19. Without these structures, we risk losing many talents who live far from the ski centers ”.
“Guys, believe it! - this is the invitation to the young students of Magda Genuin, cross-country ski Olympian and former college student - Sport is an added value in life, it teaches you to hold on. Sport and school, too often, are still two worlds too distant in the Italian reality ”.
Alberto Ghezze dealt with the theme of major events, underlining how these are important not only for the related activities and the legacy they leave in the territories but also for the professionalism they make grow in them. After the conference, the presentation of the 2021/2022 season took place in the afternoon at the PalaFalcade and, in particular, of the competitive teams involved in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and snowboarding. "There is an important novelty - announced the president of the Board of Directors, Luca Marchetto - We are in fact working on a project that will see the opening of the Ski College also to ski mountaineering: the start will take place in the 2022/2023 season".
"We are also working on the biathlon field, in synergy with the Val Biois Ski club - said Marchetto - This demonstrates the liveliness of a structure, the Ski College Veneto - Falcade Società Cooperativa Dilettantistica Sportiva, which is a reality mainly composed by parents with the aim of keeping alive a unique reality in the Italian educational panorama ".
