On Tuesday in Milan the great event of "FISI 100 Celebration": many Italian champions were present

At Hangar Bicocca the evening on the anniversary of the FISI centenary: between Tomba and Thoeni the awarding of the title of athlete of the century.

For the Italian Winter Sports Federation the time has come to celebrate 100 years since its foundation. On Tuesday 6 October, at the Hangar Bicocca in Milan, the “FISI 100 Celebration” will be staged, a series of events designed by the FISI to commemorate its history, made up of a century of successes. Indeed, in 1920 the first nucleus of the Italian Ski Federation was founded, which would then change its name to the current one. The Federation was immediately recognized by Coni and four years later, the blue team participated in its first Olympics, that of Chamonix 1924. For the first medal it will be necessary to wait more than twenty years, when Nino Bible, aboard his skeleton, he managed to put a very precious gold around his neck. From there, the Olympic medals won by the FISI have become 107, and over 500 are the world medals won in the 15 disciplines administered. To give the right luster to all this, Tuesday will begin with the FISI Media Day, starting at 11 am in the Foyer area of Hangar Bicocca, a meeting of President Flavio Roda and six top winter sports champions with the media . In fact, Dorothea Wierer, Dominik Paris, Federica Brignone, Sofia Goggia, Michela Moioli and Federico Pellegrino will be present. The meeting was enriched by many high level guests: starting with the host, Marco Tronchetti Provera, executive vice president and CEO of Pirelli, who will open the meeting; then Massimo Galli, director of the infectious diseases department of the Sacco Hospital in Milan with the top management of Techdow, a partner company of the Federation. The “Book of the Centenary” will then be presented, a publication in which the most prestigious names in winter sports participated. The commemorative stamp of the federal centenary will be announced, therefore space for the presentation of the Skipass Fair, which will be held in Modena from 29 October to 1 November next. The final part of the meeting will see the 2021 Alpine Skiing World Championships in Cortina as protagonists, with Alessandro Benetton and Valerio Giacobbi who will update on the approach path to the highlight of the season that is about to begin. In closing, Luigi Gubitosi, CEO of Tim, will speak to illustrate the partnership with the Federation. In the afternoon, still in the Hangar spaces, Audi and FISI will deliver the cars of the new fleet to the most titled champions of winter sports. A traditional appointment that once again establishes the long and effective relationship between the company of the Four Rings and the Federation. The event will start at 2.30 pm and will take place open air, with the possibility for the media to participate. From 7.30 pm the celebratory evening will start, which will be held in the hall of the Seven Heavenly Palaces, one of the most evocative spaces in Milan. Many awards will be given during the evening to champions of today and yesterday, many sponsors and federal partners who will contribute with their presence to embellish the evening. Everything will end with the proclamation of the Athlete of the Century FISI, which was decreed by popular vote on the Gazzetta.it website and on federal social networks. Two champions of alpine skiing arrived in the final: Alberto Tomba and Gustavo Thoeni, the two most known and appreciated names by the general public of Italian fans. The winner is announced on Tuesday evening.
