New FISI elections in Friuli Venezia Giulia, confirmation as president for Maurizio Dunnhofer

After the cancellation of the summer vote (with subsequent commissioner), the Extraordinary Elective Assembly of the FVG committee has established that it will still be the outgoing number 1, the only candidate, to lead the regional FISI for the next four years. "Eyof a great event next winter, then we aim to bring even more athletes to Milan Cortina 2026".

Maurizio Dunnhofer was reconfirmed as president of the FISI Committee of Friuli Venezia Giulia. This was established by the extraordinary elective assembly held on Saturday at the Eyof 2023 headquarters in Amaro. 41 companies were present, equal to 67.04% of those entitled to vote, with Dunnhofer, the only candidate, who obtained 93.67% of the votes. In addition to the president, ten councilors were elected: among the "lay people" the most voted was the outgoing Manuele Mentil (83.75%), followed by Michele Scaramuzza (68.68%), Marco Pletti (67.50%) %), Luca Natale (65.66%), Giorgio Prodorutti (63.48%), Fulvio Sluga (61.47%) and Andrea Faiman (54.44%). Excluded from the new management Roberto Andreassich (35.18%) and Valentino Santarossa (28.48%). Among the technical advisers, Tristano Vicario was reconfirmed (62.37%) to the detriment of Michele Della Mea (37.63%). On the other hand, there was no doubt about the election of the athletic councilors Lorella Baron and Tommaso Zanotelli (two candidates for the same number of positions) and of the auditor Marco Pezzetta (the only candidate). The parliamentarian Vannia Gava, the vice president of the regional council Stefano Mazzolini and the Olympic champion Silvio Fauner were present at the Assembly of the regional Federsci, chaired by the number 1 of the national FISI, Flavio Roda. Mazzolini invited ski clubs to vote for FVG candidates in the next federal elections, while Gava guaranteed his commitment to Rome for the growth of sport in the region. Roda, after thanking the extraordinary commissioner Walter Wedam for the work done in this short period following the cancellation of the previous elections due to irregularities in the right to vote, paid homage to the ski clubs for how they have managed these last difficult years, which allowed the movement to maintain a good position. During the meeting, Dunnhofer thanked the Region and PromoturismoFvg, “which allowed us to use the slopes even in the most difficult moments of the pandemic”. The re-elected president recalled the 100 competitions organized per year and the desire in the next four years to continue to give equal dignity to all disciplines, as well as having maximum respect for the financial aspects. “After 12 years we have managed to reconstitute the alpine skiing teams - added the president - Staying with the competitive theme, at the Beijing Olympics we had 9 athletes, for Milan Cortina 2026 we want to double the number. The goal is a strong presence of our Committee also at Eyof 2023, it is no coincidence that in recent seasons we have created dedicated work groups. I am convinced that with passion, dedication and unity, we will continue to be strong ”, concluded Dunnhofer, who chairs the organizing committee of the European Youth Olympic Festival, scheduled for next January in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
