The initiative wanted by the former blue sprinter, together with the reference company and the local realities, including the Dolomiti Cadore Ski Club, was truly a great success. The reactions of the protagonists.

Full enthusiasm for the first stage of the Vitalini Start Contest powered by Neveplast, staged over the weekend in San Vito di Cadore and organized with the collaboration of the Dolomiti Cadore Ski Club: a summer party full of challenges from the starting gate, with 50 athletes from some of the most representative ski clubs in Veneto, who responded to the invitation of Pietro Vitalini and Neveplast and presented themselves at the gate of the contest that rewards the fastest athlete in the start of the race.
To do the honors as organizer, the team of the Cadore Dolomiti Ski Club, always at the forefront in promoting competitive skiing in the area. The theater of the contest was the now famous ski slope in Neveplast synthetic material, designed to train athletes' starts from the gate, even in summer, as an alternative to the glacier. The track, built in San Vito at the NeveSole park, is open from early August to the training of athletes and teams who will be able to use it until the end of the month.
The challenge of the Vitalini Start Contest started in the morning with a training session in which the little athletes took measurements with the race set up and with the Neveplast synthetic material, which for many was an absolute novelty. “The adrenaline among the ski club boys was palpable from the early morning when the training began - says Pietro Vitalini - It is always very gratifying to see how much effort and competitive spirit the boys put into participating in our contest. The formula is special, the athletes ski in shorts and t-shirts on an unusual stage but it is always a competition, as well as a good party.
When you wear the bib it is always to go faster than the others. It was not immediately easy and intuitive for everyone, many athletes were a bit awkward in the first starts because for them it was an absolutely new competition ground. For me, but above all for the coaches, it was nice and constructive to see the improvements, descent after descent, of the little ones. In many cases, the stopwatch was not even needed to testify how a bit 'of tests on the ramp had led to a clear improvement in the technical gesture of the start ”.
The legendary former blue sprinter has founded Vitalini Performance Ski Wear for years, a brand of excellence in the technical clothing sector for winter sports and for the bike sector.
The hostilities then reopened in the early afternoon with the format that included two runs for each athlete with the sum of the times; in a festive atmosphere between music, shows and the suggestion of Antelao and of the Dolomiti Cadore Ski Club, the best three athletes of the baby, puppy, boys and students (female and male) categories got on the podium. The first ones were given a plaque, but all the participants returned home with a race pack offered by Pietro Vitalini. “I wanted to pay homage to all the guys who participated with a race package - adds“ Alitalia ”- because they all faced the race with the right spirit, giving us exciting challenges, great competitive spirit and fair play.
After seeing the laughter of the lads at the end of the race, I am increasingly convinced that the format we have created with Neveplast has great potential for the future ".
Niccolò Bertocchi, CEO of Neveplast, explained that he feels “very satisfied with this 2021 edition of the Vitalini Start Contest powered by Neveplast. With Pietro Vitalini there is a good relationship of esteem and we both believe that our set-up that allows athletes to train in the technical gesture of leaving the gate even in summer, close to home, is a '' excellent alternative to training in the snow. A format more than referenced as it is promoted by great champions such as Carlo Janka, Katrin Ofner and Michela Moioli, who during the summer period have found with us an alternative to snow to become stronger in the starts.
Our mission is to spread the practice of winter sports, also starting from the cities and helping the ski resorts in the mountains to extend the tourist season 12 months a year. In view of the Olympic Games at home, we believe we can be an excellent promotional and awareness tool for everyone. Thanks to the Dolomiti Cadore Ski Club who believed in our project. We hope it will be the first of other future collaborations ”.
The day continued with a third time that put everyone in agreement: barbecue, music and healthy fun organized by the Dolomiti Cadore Ski Club, with a heartfelt thanks to the president of the local reality, Stefano Sommacal, to Sara Gutilla and to all supporters of the club without forgetting the administration of San Vito represented by the mayor Emanuele Caruzzo and the councilor for sport, Aaron Fundone, who supported the project.
