First two days of dream EYOF for the Azzurri: Sieff d'oro like De Martin Pinter in the fund

At Vuokatti, immediately six medals for the talents of the national team in four different disciplines: silver for Emilia Mondinelli in the women's slalom, as well as for Piller Hoffer in the biathlon sprint. Double podium for Nadine Laurent.

First two days with a lot of satisfactions, for the azzurrini involved in the 2022 edition of the EYOF (the European Youth Olympic Festival) on the Finnish snows of Vuokatti. Six medals won in four disciplines, starting with Emilia Mondinelli's silver in women's slalom: for the 17-year-old from Valsesia, an amazing second place behind the unbeatable Rosa Pohjolainen, born in 2003 already with a lot of experience at the CdM level and winner with 1 ”19 margin over the Piedmontese, who in turn preceded the Austrian Victoria Olivier, bronze. The most awaited blue, Beatrice Sola, finished in fifth place, while Ambra Pomaré was eighth. Finnish success also in the men's slalom, with Erik Saravuo gold in the race that saw Edoardo Saracco give himself a good 5th place, with Stefano Pizzato second Italian in eighth position. Annika Sieff, after the junior world title in Zakopane, won another gold medal in weight at the youth level, beating everyone in the Nordic combined competition: the 18-year-old from Fiemme, second after the jump segment just 2 seconds from the Austrian Slamik, she detached all of them in the 4 km of cross-country skiing, finishing with 15 seconds on Lisa Hirner and with the bronze Annalena Slamik herself, while Greta Pinzani, second blue at the start, finished ninth. Cross-country skiing gave Italy three medals: Nadine Laurent, after the bronze in the women's 7.5 km, repeated herself with third place in the 5 km in classic technique, behind her teammate Iris De Martin Pinter splendid gold. Fourth place, however, for Davide Ghio in the men's test. Silver for Mattia Piller Hoffer, on the other hand, in the men's biathlon Sprint won by the Czech Peter Hak. Just a stone's throw from the podium, after having already done very well at the recent World Youth Championships, Sara Scattolo who finished fourth in the women's Sprint.
