It could only be Marcel Hirscher the Austrian sportsman of 2019, as the Austrian sports journalists association stated quite clearly, opting for the star of Annaberg with over 300 votes on the tennis player Dominic Thiem, again in final at Roland Garros, and on the world bronze discus thrower, Lukas Weisshaidinger.
The award ceremony, staged in the usual theater of the Marx Halle in Vienna, saw the great protagonist also another ski champion who a few months ago announced the withdrawal from the competitions, a wild Felix Neureuther who announced the victory of Hirscher (with the trophy dedicated this year to Niki Lauda), joking on stage on everything he would have won without his rival on the track.
