An edition, the fifth ever, really full of champions and exceptional stories, as is now tradition for "Il Festival dello Sport" which will be staged, from Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 September, in the heart of Trento thanks to the support that Trentino Marketing guarantees the organizers of “La Gazzetta dello Sport”.
"Moments of glory" will live the tales of aces like Marcell Jacobs or the great Milan of Sacchi and Gullit, just to name some of the names of the hundreds of stars present; among these, also for the 2022 edition there are many protagonists from the world of snow and ice, which enthusiasts can admire and listen to in all the various events with free admission, subject to availability.
We have "reduced" the framework of events dedicated to winter disciplines to create a guide that begins, the first event ever of the Sport Festival, starting tomorrow with the "Gazza Café" at Palazzo Benvenuti, from 9.30 with Amos Mosaner, the Olympic champion of the mixed doubles of curling with Stefania Constantini, guest of the salon hosted by Barbara Pedrotti.
At 10.30, in Piazza Duomo in Trento, here is "3Tre, the great story", that is the time to retrace the whole road that has led the slalom of Madonna di Campiglio to the present day, with the historian Paolo Luconi Bisti and the last Italian winner on the Canalone Miramonti, Giorgio Rocca. At 3.30 pm, again on the first day of the event, Michele Boscacci talks about himself at the “Muse”, “The Lord of the Snows” as the title of the meeting with the winner of the Ski Mountaineering World Cup. Finally, the closing at 19.30 tomorrow, at Palazzo Geremia, with Kristian Ghedina involved in "Objective 3 - The impossible does not exist", with Ampezzano unveiling together with triathletes Pier Alberto Buccoliero and Cristina Nuti, interviewed by Claudio Arrigoni.
Friday we meet at 11.00, at the Teatro Sociale di Trento, with a great appointment: "All the pink of the Games", or the launch of Milan Cortina 2026 with the women protagonists in five circles: among others, there will be Gabriella Paruzzi , Valentina Marchei, Michela Moioli, Martina and Arianna Valcepina, Valentina Margaglio, Alba De Silvestro and Francesca Lollobrigida, in addition to the federal presidents Roda (FISI) and Gios (FISG).
At 15.00, all at the Muse for "Pianeta Snowboard", or the meeting with Michela Moioli and Omar Visintin, silver paired in Beijing 2022, while at 19.00 Palazzo della Regione will host the event "When climbing was exploring" which brings a legend of mountaineering, Krzysztof Wielicki, to Trento.
Saturday the third day, really rich from the early hours of the morning with Dominik Paris and Aksel Lund Svindal again face to face in “A life in downhill”, scheduled at 9.30 at the Santa Chiara Auditorium. At the same time, Pietro Sighel, the great promise (and now already a reality) of the blue short track, protagonist of the episode of “Gazza Café” at Palazzo Benvenuti.
At 3 pm, "The Magician" Nadir Maguet, skyrunner of reference worldwide, talks about his meeting with Simone Battaggia in Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore, then at 4.30 pm here is "The Ice Queen", Arianna Fontana, at the Palazzo della Regione to retrace a career as a legend, and far from over, together with her husband and coach Anthony Lobello.
On Sunday the grand finale, opening with a bang: at 10.00, in fact, at the Santa Chiara Auditorium, the meeting with Federica Brignone and Deborah Compagnoni: "The art of skiing" will unite the two champions of pink skiing, interviewed by Cristina Fantoni. At 11.00, the protagonist at the Teatro Sociale will be Hervé Barmasse “in the footsteps of the myth”, while at 17.00 the big greeting with two myths of female alpine skiing, first rivals and then friends on and off the slopes. We are talking about Sofia Goggia and Lindsey Vonn, “At high speed” in the appointment at the Teatro Sociale with a renowned journalist like Massimo Gramellini to talk with the champions.
