The FIS has announced Crans-Montana, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Andorra, Narvik for the world championship event of 2027. In Sweden the Nordic World Ski Championships in the same year, while for the flight on skis (2026) the German resort is l '' only candidate.

The deadline was set for 1 May and, this morning, the FIS made official the six candidates for the various world reviews of the 2026/27 vintages. Let's start with alpine skiing, where there is the only comparison between several locations: four of those that will be played, in May 2022, for the assignment of the 2027 world championships (for now, in view of 2029, the '' the only candidate is Sestriere) between Crans-Montana, Garmisch-Partenkirchen (both defeated in the fight for 2025 in favor of Saalbach, while in 2023 they will compete in Courchevel Méribel), the Principality of Andorra and Norway with Narvik. For Nordic skiing, the world championship event is in fact already in the hands of Falun, the only candidate for the 2027 edition and ready to host the world championships for the fifth time. In 2026, on the other hand, the Ski Flying World Championships with the German town of Oberstdorf (which hosted the maximum event for Nordic skiing in February 2021) which remains the only one in the race. The outgoing president of the FIS, Gian Franco Kasper, said he was "satisfied with the quality of the candidates proposed at various levels", with the new reference date becoming that of September 1, 2021, when the six competing locations will have to submit their dossiers with the various technical details relating to the event.
