Fans will have time until Friday 30 September to express a preference: from the beginning of October, only the three most voted athletes will remain in contention. We remember the 12 candidates.

Federica Brignone, Nadia Delago, Sofia Goggia from alpine skiing, Dorothea Wierer and Federico Pellegrino from Nordic disciplines, Omar Visintin and Michela Moioli for snowboarding, speed ski aces Valentina Greggio and Simone Origone, as well as Michele Boscacci winner of the ball crystal in the skialp, Dominik Fischnaller blue lighthouse of sledding and Valentina Margaglio, the queen of skeleton in Italy.
These are the 12 candidates to succeed the throne of Marta Bassino, winner of the first "FISI Athlete of the year" last year. For 2022, voting is open until Friday 30 September, at least for the first phase: fans will be able to express only one preference (for each of the two phases of the competition) by sending an email to the address atletafisi@fisi.org . The three most voted athletes will remain in contention for the second phase, which will open on Saturday 1 October and end on Friday 21 October.
The winner will be announced and awarded during the traditional Festa degli Azzurri at the end of the Skipass, scheduled from 29 October to 1 November at ModenaFiere.
