From 21 to 28 January 2023, Friuli Venezia Giulia is preparing to host the European Youth Olympic Festival: the report of inspections and meetings.

The result of the three-day visit of CONI and the heads of delegation of the European Olympic committees, who will participate in the Olympic Festival of European Youth in Friuli Venezia Giulia, from 21 to 28 January 2023, was very satisfying.
One hundred people were able to view the various competition venues, divided into the three clusters of Tarvisio-Udine, Piancavallo and Carnia. For the general secretary of CONI, Carlo Mornati, EYOF 2023 presents itself "with what it takes to be another important international sporting event organized in a region, Friuli Venezia Giulia, in which sport is an integral part of society and where skills, passions and skills have always been an example for everyone ".
It will be an absolute first as regards the format of the European Olympic Youth Games which involves the involvement of an entire region and not a single location. The president of the EYOF commission of the European Olympic Committees, Liney Halldorsdottir, expressed her satisfaction with the choice of the locations where the more than 1200 athletes (aged 14 to 18) will compete in the 12 sports (14 sporting events) included in the calendar of the sixteenth winter edition of the games.
Halldorsdottir also wanted to thank the president of EYOF 2023, Maurizio Dunnhofer, for the welcome and presentation of the event illustrated to the numerous guests from all over the continent. The COE Commission will return to the region in early December for a final visit in anticipation of the opening ceremony on 21 January scheduled in Piazza dell''Unità d''Italia in Trieste. Forty-seven countries have signed up for participation in this great event which will see the FVG host a total of over 2100 participants in total.
