Völkl Game of Podiums 2022/23: the challenge restarts with Levi's slalom

After the numerous cancellations at the beginning of the season, the World Cup rekindles the engines. So the crystal ball race starts again and with it also the Völkl game of podiums by Neveitalia. The predictions are already open.

The challenge for the conquest of the World Cup and for the Crystal Cup in blown glass that will be created for the occasion by Neveitalia is rekindled. The prize for the final victory of the Völkl Game of Podiums will therefore be very similar to that of whoever wins the 2022/23 World Cup. The winner who scores the most points during the season will have a copy of the crystal ball and will enter the gold list of the Gioco dei Podi. There was talk of the seasonal opening, which was halved due to bad weather, and of sudden cancellations between late October and early November. In succession they had to raise the white flag ... Zermatt / Cervinia, which saw the dream of hosting the speed opening fade, and then Lech / Zuers where instead two parallels should have been held. Finally the wait is over, winter is upon us and the World Cup restarts from the great north. Two women's slaloms will be staged next weekend in Levi (Finland), waiting to see the men in action in North America. Race-1 will start on Saturday 19 from 10:00, while on Sunday it will be repeated with start at 10:15. As always, the predictions will be open up to two hours before the first athlete at the gate. The formula of the Game of podiums is the one by now consolidated for NeveItalia fans: it is necessary to guess in exact order the podium of the World Cup races, for men and women. For each "centered" position 5 (five) points are awarded, while 2 (two) are awarded if you guess the athlete on the podium, but with a different placement from that indicated. Who will indicate the first three classified in the exact order will then get 15 points. Maximum attention to the world championships in Courchevel-Méribel (06 - 19 February 2023) and the World Cup finals in Soldeu (15 - 19 March 2023), which will award triple points. In these races, each correct position will have the value of 15 (fifteen) points, while if an athlete who has reached the podium but in the wrong position is reported, 6 (six) points will be won. Total achievable in these races, therefore, of 45 points. For each event it will be possible to make predictions up to about two hours before the start of the race. In any case, according to the conditions of the competition, the editorial staff will have the possibility to set a different closing time for the predictions. In the hypothesis, in which the competition takes place over several days, the start of the competition on the first day will prevail. If the race is not played or is played irregularly or any type of technical or organizational problem occurs, the editorial staff may decide not to assign any points per event and the insertion of predictions by users will not produce any results on the scoring. If a race is postponed to the following days and this decision is taken after the closing of the phase in which it was allowed to send the prediction for the game of podiums, the editorial staff will have the right to reopen the prediction and users will be able to update the prediction sent, up to about two hours from the start of the new race date.
