What's New and voltages from Masters of France

In a weekend punctuated by international competitions of the highest level, it is also open national competition season with the traditional Master'' s of France this year held in Orléans. The competition saw miss his star in waiting, the champion Brian Joubert, who retired a few days before the race. The event proved to be a harbinger of still interesting and food for thought, especially with regard to the lively field of dance, which has been inhabited on the ice, among others, the three pairs of the tip of the French movement: Pechalat / Bourzat, Carron / Jones and Papadakis / Cizeron. Good debut for Pechalat / Bourzat who have proposed two new programs: the first, the short dance, skated to a medley of music by Bob Fosse ("Big Spender," "Sing sing sing" and "Mein Herr "), has deserved two levels 3 for the pattern of finnstep and good grades of execution of steps and spins for a total of 69.12 segment. The free hand, built starting from the theme of "The Little Prince and the Rose," inspired by the short story by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, includes a selection of music from diverse backgrounds and represent, according to the athletes themselves, the quintessence of their career on the ice. The segment recorded the excellent score of 102.33: the lifting of good workmanship, as well as twizzle level 4. With these assumptions and under the careful guidance of Igor Shipilband the duo hopes to compete for the coveted bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Sochi, a position he already has a long list of suitors, assuming that gold and silver will be fought between the North American Davis / White and Virtue / Moir, former students of the same Shpilband. There was great anticipation for the first direct comparison between the second pair French historical, Carron / Jones, and the couple emerging Papadakis / Cizeron, a veteran of the last brilliant junior season ended with a silver medal. The conflict was resolved with a high prevalence of the most experienced Carron / Jones (154.00) on former junior (143.47), which are, however, recently discovered at the center of tensions within their own federation. Papadakis / Cizeron are in fact a few years stationed in Lyon under the guidance of Muriel Zazoui, the historic French dance guru, but their request for transfer company official was deliberately ignored by the president of the French federation Didier Guilhaguet, that has them instead forcibly Club members France, a company "virtual" they belong to the athletes of national interest momentarily society. According to French newspaper L'Equipe, the question concerns the financing Papadakis / Cizeron deserve as peak torque and that would be paid to the society they belong to, if there is one. To stop the president from issuing a young duo to the company of Lyon would therefore be a thinly-veiled attempt at excluding the work of Muriel Zazoui to 'Academy of Lion, which would be at this point completely run out of federal funding. The situation is so tense that'' the former world champion Olivier Schoenfelder would have intervened with a letter to the French sports minister asking him to put an end to the matter. The story is best understood if you think that it was Guilhaguet to push both Pechalat / Bourzat but especially Carron / Jones to go to the guidance of coach Shipilband for this Olympic season. Turning to the women, the race was dominated by Mae-Berenice Meite with Candice Didier of 153.26 (133.79) and Lénaëlle Gilleron-Gory (126.67) The Meite missed the comparison with the most direct rival Yleta Silethe , who had to retire as still recovering from a recent knee surgery. Mae-Berenice has, however, shown a decent run of form by completing even a combination triple toe loop-triple toe loop in the short program, while limped at times in the free. The men's field has seen rather win Florent Amodio (203.80) which, however, proved not to be still in the prime of his strength in the short falls on trying to quadruple Salchow and the double lutz, missing combination, however good the triple axel. In the free lacks new quadruple Salchow initial completing a clean program but no jump combinations and therefore says little or nothing about its strategic intentions in the race. The event also saw the race unfold couples: absent, however, James / Cipres to injury, so the duo Popova / Massot has competed alone give a total score of 135.51.
