In the Northwest Pacific Regional Championships, hosted by Sprinker Recreation Center in Tacoma, has imposed the eighteen year old Samantha Stevens, strongly competitive figure skater born and raised in Honolulu and then moved three years ago in the city of Vancouver (not to be confused with'' Canadian Centre namesake), located on the border between Washington state and the'' Oregon. In the course of the competition, which saw nine athletes engaged stationed in Oregon, Montana and Washington, very few attempts have been made of triple jumps, which has never been crowned with a good conclusion. The winner, rising from fifth position occupied in the short program, only 92.62 points were enough to enter the Pacific Coast Sectional Championships. They also passed the turn eighteen year old Seattle Allison Jeffers (91,16), leading to the end of the first segment of the race, the companion of clubs Amy Nunn (85.48) and the almost unknown Jodan Lee (85,47). A witness of the poor level, it is sufficient to point out as the top three in the test juniors have scored higher than the winning Hawaiian. Much more competitive rate, however, in the North Atlantic Regional Championships, which was held in the prestigious setting of the'' Olympic Center in Lake Placid. The victory went to veteran Joelle Forte (136,20), able to impose itself clearly in both programs. The original twenty-seven of the state of New York, famous in the recent past for trying to compete unsuccessfully for the'' Azerbaijan, showed the best of his skating during the short program in which among other things has completed a'''' optimal combination triple lutz / double toe loop. In the second position it is placed the sixteen Jordan Bauth (118,61), skater can perform spins of high quality, but which of the two programs is managed to complete only two triples, in the present case two salchow. Have qualified for the'' Eastern Sectional Championships also Ann Marie Mateya (110.99) and Helen Serafini (108.67). All four athletes who will continue their race to the National leagues train in upstate New York.
