Second place with Italian record for Stefania Berton / Ondrej Hotarek in short of Skate Canada

The opening day of the fortieth edition of Skate Canada, hosted by'' Harbour Station in Saint John, opened with the short program of the pairs of art.

The segment of the race saw shine as never before the pair composed of Italian Stefania Berton and Ondrej Hotarek (69,38), capable in the'' opportunity to shatter the national record by themselves published on the occasion of the European Championships. Students of Franca Bianconi skated a short program free of burrs embellished with a triple Rittberger launched by the remarkable performance and a triple toe loop in parallel by'' perfect unison. Also, they have obtained the highest level available on each of elmenti required, with the exception of the triple twist however well completed. In particular, it should be highlighted the quality of tricky'' death spiral back inside, alone among those seen today to have deserved the four level. I just regret for the first position for a glimpse'' gluing and secondly for not having breached the threshold of thirty points in the components of the program, that goal seems well within reach. On balance, the improvements over the past season highlighted at Skate Canada'' represent an important business card in view of upcoming events. Leading the race, despite some small imperfections on both the triple lutz in parallel on the triple lutz launched are the favorites on the eve Megan Duhamel / Eric Radford (69,57). The Canadian national champions have managed to excel thanks to the high valuations on the components of the program, but on the technical side have paid duty in relation to the Italian couple and young Chinese Wenjing Sui / Cong Han (69,02), returned to comment on levels of excellence after almost a lost season due to various physical problems. The three times World Champions juniors have made a draw on the technical score with Berton / Hotarek, but, unlike the blue pair, they left here and there on some level'' challenging period and on the reverse the spiral of death. Remarkable, however, the execution of the'' triple twist, everyday item for those who are used to complete four rotations, and launched triple flip, jump from height'' sidereal. The real news in the recent past, however, was represented by the triple toe loop in parallel, today completed without any difficulty by Wenjing Sui. The free program, which will be held tomorrow, from 13:00 to Saint John (18:00 in Italy), promises to be so very interesting because the first three pairs in the list are separated by a few tenths of a point. Regarding the positions at the foot of the podium, the best were novices Germans Vartmann / Van Cleave (55,08), however penalized by a fall on the triple toe loop side by side. They paid the same problem, but on a triple salchow in parallel, even the Americans Denney / Frazier (55,01), Junior World Champions in charge. In sixth place are Canadians Lawrence / Swiegers (52,94), remained afloat despite a fall on the triple lutz and a triple toe loop launched in parallel to double degraded due to a landing on the edge of Paige Lawrence. Next, there are the Americans to the David / Brubaker (52.69), authors of a great triple salchow in parallel, but in big trouble on the axel lasso lift, collapsed in the final. Sadly past the hosts Purdy / Marinaro (39,50), now in obvious distress on most of the elements presented.
