Figure Skating - Criteria for drawing up the national ranking Italian

The season of figure skating is rising to, and within a few weeks you will know the names of the skaters who will be chosen by the Italian FISG to take part in ISU Championships and Olympic Games.

Clearly, Kosnter Carolina, Valentina Marchei, Stefania Berton / Ondrej Hotarek and Nicole Della Monica / Matthew Guarise, athletes included in the so-called "national group ELITE", have already acquired the right to take part in the most important events of 2014. It remains to determine who will participate in the men's race of Europeans, Olympics and World Championships and who will play the role of reserves in each specialty, not to mention the athletes who will be selected for the World Junior Championships. In such a way as to avoid confusion and controversy, the commission FISG that deals with figure skating has identified a set of criteria for drawing up the national ranking from discipline to discipline. To establish the ranking, it was decided to take into account the score obtained in the free program of the National Championships, which will be added to the score of the two best free programs of international competitions assigned by the Federation in the period between late August and December. Basically, you start from the first stage of junior Grand Prix and you will arrive at the Winter Universiade. To try to ensure consistency between the results obtained in junior competitions and those obtained in the senior competition, it was decided to subtract from the score obtained in the free program the value of the choreographic sequence, an element not present in the junior races. In addition, with regard to the Italian national championships, it was determined that the final value of the PCS (program component score) will be multiplied by 0.9, while the international competitions will be worth full. However, there are some variables related'' s inability to compete in one or more international competitions assigned because of serious health problems or family documented. A) If it is been played only one international competition, it will also consider the score of the best free program to a national competition of the season, but the PCS (program component score) will be multiplied by 0.9. B) If one race has been held nationally or internationally, we will consider 90% of the value of the best free program skated in a race interactional of last season. C) If you have not played national or international competitions, will take into account the 90% of the value of the two best free programs skated in international competitions of the season. The federation has correctly decided not to, however, value the short program, because the segment of the race at the junior level can not be compared to the difference of senior technical content.
