The Russian figure skater, Australian naturalized, had been a junior world champion and had taken part in the 2018 Olympic Games. Then the retreat and a thousand problems, up to the extreme gesture in Moscow.

A sad story, ended with suicide by jumping from the window of his Moscow apartment. That of Ekaterina Alexandrovskaya, a Russian skater born in 2000 who seemed to have launched a great career until a couple of years ago, is truly a tragic and full of backstory end. The news of the death, which occurred on the night between 17 and 18 July, was given by the Russian agency Tass and reveals how the 20-year-old decided to end it following a series of problems, especially on a psychological level, which emerged in particular after the competitive retirement in 2019 due to various physical troubles and after acquiring the Australian nationality. Alexandrovskaya left a farewell note with the words "Love" and the partner on the ice with whom he had conquered the junior world title, the Australian Harley Windsor (together they also took part in the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics), the he recalled with a poignant social message. “No word can describe how I feel right now: I am devastated and upset - Windsor's words - What we have achieved during our collaboration is something that I will never be able to forget and that I will always keep close to my heart. Rest in peace Katia ”.
