The first edition of the ISU Grand Prix in Helsinki sees the victory of the two Olympic champions. Guignard-Fabbri and Della Monica-Guarise give Italy a double second place.

The bi-Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu is competing in the men's race that has closed the program of the Helsinki stage included in the calendar to replace the traditional Cup of China. Second place for them as Everett and only mathematics does not yet allow the students of Barbara Fusar Poli to celebrate the more than likely qualification for the Finals. Third place and first podium in a Grand Prix stage after three participations for the US Lorraine McNamara and Quinn Carpenter, junior world champions in 2016 (176.66). Good debut with eighth place finish and 153.89 points with the satisfaction of the seventh place in the Free Dance for the debutants Jasmine Tessari and Francesco Fioretti.
Second place and best placement in a Grand Prix stage also for Nicole Della Monica and Matteo Guarise who, with 185.77 points, bow only to the favorites of the eve the Russians Natalia Zabiiako and Alexander Enbert who, to seize the first Grand Prix victory, dominate the Free dance, despite a fall on the triple Salchow, with 198.51 points. The Italian couple manages to keep 16 cents of the 3.79 points of advantage accumulated in the Short Program on the junior world champions in charge, the Russians Daria Pavliuchenko and Denis Khodykin who, on the debut, rise on the third step of the podium.

Sono cambiate alcune cose e ho capito di essere semplicemente uno snowboarder che si diverte tantissimo sui pedali. Punterà soprattutto ai campionati del mondo di Montafon che a marzo chiuderanno la stagione.
