In the European Championships in Budapest, Anna Cappellini and Luca Lanotte have enhanced the personal record by almost three points, remodeling, thus the Italian record.

In the four Olympic year, the couple dancing blue jumped into sixth place in the ranking that takes into account the score obtained in a single race breaking, again for the sixth, the barrier of 170 points.
Students Paola Mezzadri and Igor Shpilband have made a significant step forward on the components of the program so as to become the seventh with 53.54 pair to shoot down the wall of the 53 lengths in the free dance. So far, have exceeded 50 lengths also Davis / White (sixteen times with a maximum of 55.29), Virtue / Moir (twelve times with a maximum of 54.65), Weaver / Poje (51,67'' in the latest edition Skate Canada), Ilinykh / Katsalapov (50.51 last Trophee Eric Bompard), and Gilles / Poirier (50.35 in recent Four Continents).
In the short-dance, Cappellini / Lanotte are able to touch more than one and a half times the previous record achieved in the technical end of the Grand Prix of 2013, raising the level of the crossbar'' to 35.30. To date, the only Davis / White (fifteen times with a maximum of 38.83), Virtue / Moir (fifteen times with a maximum of 38.51), Ilinykh / Katsalapov (35.83 in recent European Budapest), Pechalat / Bourzat (twice with a maximum of 35.58) and Bobrova / Soloviev (three times with a maximum of 35.56) managed to get a higher score to the new record of the reigning European champions.
In the continental event, it was not, however, been no improvement on the 34.28 technical score as obtained in Budapest has stayed away for more than two points from 36.50 reached in the latest edition of Skate America. Curiously, both French and Russians have chosen not to take part in the European Championships betting all the chips on the Olympic Games.
