Maia and Alex Shibutani will not participate in the upcoming U.S. International Figure Skating Classic, ISU competition to be held in Salt Lake City from Wednesday, September 11.

The pair of American dance, just back from a couple of seasons undertone, was forced to forfeit due to a physical problem suffered in training over the weekend.
Alex Shibutani, in fact, suffered a kind of muscle pain in the neck and after a consultation with the medical staff decided to take a few days of rest to avoid aggravating the injury.
Students of Marina Zueva did not hide his disappointment for the unexpected: "After many months of hard training we are sorry not to be able to compete in Salt Lake City. Anyway, we are 100% focused on upcoming events and rest of the season. "
The minimum target for the brothers of Asian origin is to reclaim the title of the second pair of American dance, ripped them in the last couple months from Chock / Bates, coached by Igor Shpilband.
