In the history of the segment long race, in addition to Chan (196.75 Trophée Eric Bompard 2013) and Hanyu (193.41 in the final of the Grand Prix of 2013), only four other athletes have exceeded 180 points. This is Javier Fernandez (186.07 in the European Championships in Zagreb in 2013), Tatsuki Machida (184.05 in the recent World Championships in Saitama), Daisuke Takahashi (182.72 in the World Team Trophy in 2012) and Takahiko Kozuka (180.79 in the World Championships in Moscow 2011).

In the current season, eight athletes were added to the small circle of those who have managed to break the barrier of 240 points. The new entry is Tatsuki Machida, Han Yan, Jason Brown, Adam Rippon, Takahito Mura, Sergei Voronov, Jeremy Abbott and Maxim Kovtun. It should be noted as five of the top nine skaters are always flying the Japanese flag.

Only 7 occasions violated the threshold of 280 points. The first to achieve this is Patrick Chan was when in 2011 he won the first world championship in Moscow career with a lot of world record (280.98). The Canadian has then repeated in the latest edition of the Trophée Eric Bompard in Paris arriving at 295.27 points, the current world record, and in the final of the Grand Prix in Fukuoka with 280.08. The second is to succeed Yuzuru Hanyu state that is strip with three open competitions (Grand Prix Final, the Olympic Games and World Championships). The latest to be added to the company's Tatsuki Machida was in the World Cup in Fukuoka. Chan and Hanyu are already screened more than 290 points.
