Flavio Menardi is silver medal at the Parabob World Championships!

Amazing comeback for the Ampezzo Flavio Menardi who wins a splendid silver medal at the Parabob World Championships staged on the Lillehammer track.

The bearer of the Bob Club Cortina who yesterday closed in fifth position after the first two heats that characterized the first day of racing, today literally overtook himself, recovering three positions in the last two descents, bowing only to the Swiss Jonas Frei authentic ruler of the world championship appointment. A great satisfaction for Menardi, for the whole Italian Paralympic movement and above all for the Bob Club Cortina which together with Orlando Maruggi has always believed in this discipline, supporting the entire Italian team both in the world cup circuit and in the path of approaching this sport which unfortunately is not yet part of the Winter Paralympic Games program. And who knows if this medal does not help to change the mind of the International Paralympic Committee given that the next edition of Cinque Cerchi will be held in Cortina on the renewed Monti slope. In addition to Flavio Menardi's splendid silver, the Italian expedition has collected other flattering results. Fabrizio Caselli was placed in seventh position recovering 3 positions compared to yesterday, while Pier Alberto Buccoliero loses some positions who closes in thirteenth position, but the multi-medal winner in the summer Paralympic disciplines can still console himself with the best time in the heat signed in the last descent. The other great joy of the day at Casa Italia is represented by the twelfth place of the blue Giulia Ruffato who won the women's ranking at her first major international appointment. Now for the Bob Club Cortina it's time to change the page and focus on the upcoming Absolute Italian Championships. The Ampezzo association in collaboration with the FISI will once again organize the top national championships on the Igls track in Austria. The appointment is therefore in Tyrol with the official training sessions scheduled for Tuesday 1st March, while on Wednesday 2nd the tricolor medals will be awarded.
