Good results for the Bob Club Cortina in Oberhof in the fourth leg of the Paralympic bobsled World Cup. The three representatives of the Ampezzo team, Pier Alberto Buccoliero, Flavio Menardi and Fabrizio Caselli, have obtained flattering placings on the impressive Thuringia casing.

The trip organized by FISIP (Italian Federation of Paralympic Winter Sports) and by the Bob Club Cortina in collaboration with the ONLUS The game never ends of Orlando Maruggi, saw alongside the three athletes the escorts: Maruggi, Di Stefano (former skeletonista) and Ottaviani (technical and former driver of the Bob Club Cortina).
The three Italian hobbyists first tackled a three-day pre-race training session in which they took 3 daily descents each and then during the weekend they were protagonists of two races valid for the maximum paralympic bobsleigh circuit.
The best of the Italians was the most expert of the three Pier Alberto Buccoliero, who after the tenth and fifth place of Calgary, the sixth and the eighth of Lillehammer in Thuringia won the tenth and the eleventh position. Good performances for the debutants Menardi and Caselli who have scored interesting partial proving to have good driving skills and still ample room for improvement.
Menardi was placed in fifteenth position after finishing the first race of race 1 in tenth place, while in the second race he finished in twelfth place. Caselli instead was fourteenth and thirteenth.
There is satisfaction among the technicians and supporters of the Italian team for the results of the three Azzurri, "Flavio (Menardi ed) in the first descent of the first race got an excellent 10th place, the best of the Italians, also driving well the curves more difficult and proving to have fully learned the advice of Loris - he explained to our microphones Erik Di Stefano who continued - perhaps taken from the excitement of the debut in the World Cup Flavio failed to repeat in the second descent, concluding then in 15th place, but the second day ended in 12th place. "

The next round of the Paralympic bobsled World Cup is scheduled for mid-February on the St. Moritz circuit, the last act of the first circuit before the World Championships in Lake Placid.
