The decision will be taken by the International Paralympic Committee at the beginning of the new year, once all the parameters to be admitted among the Paralympic disciplines have been analyzed.

At the beginning of December the IPC announced the eighteen disciplines that will be part of the Paralympic program of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Games. At the moment, there is no bobsleigh among these disciplines: "The decision has been postponed as some evaluations on some technical aspects of the disicplina, to insert it among the Paralympic events "- explained the president of the IPC Andrew Parsons.
The leader of the International Para Sliding Club, Christopher Stewart, is one of the fiugre who is doing the most, internationally, for the bobsleigh to enter the Paralympic program. Stewart, ex-Swiss athlete, capable of obtaining several international successes in monobob and para-bob, explains that the parameters to be admitted to the Paralympic Games are perfectly respected by the discipline: "Our sport is now a consolidated sport, with Championships of the World and Europeans, I would say that the conditions for being able to do the Paralympics of Milan-Cortina 2026 are all there ".
The first season of the para-bobsleigh World Cup took place in 2014. Last season nine nations participated in the top world circuit; moreover, since 2016, the World Cup has always been held every year (except for the 2020 season, due to a pandemic). For Stewart, not admitting the para-bob would be a detrimental and retrograde action for the whole Paralympic movement.
"Paralympic sports receive contributions from the Fedrations, for this reason our inclusion would be important" - this is Stewart's opinion on the economic side deriving from participation in Milan-Cortina 2026.
The IBSF, on the other hand, is very optimistic about this story: "There is a lot of positivity about this topic. Now para-bobsleigh is a very popular discipline and even the competitions increase from year to year; we would be negatively surprised if we were excluded. ".
We remind you that the Milan-Cortina 2026 Paralympics will be staged from 6 to 15 March.
Therefore, all that remains is to wait for the first weeks of 2021, when the International Paralympic Committee will dissolve the reservations regarding the admission of the para-bob in the Paralympic program.
