It was inaugurated on Thursday 31 August, in the presence of the authorities, the new biathlon center of Santo Stefano di Cadore (BL). The project, born in 2010, finally saw the light thanks to the efforts of the administration of the municipality of Belluno and U.S. Valpadola.

The new compressed air polygon designed for young people represents a great opportunity for growth for the Italian biathlon movement that puts its roots in a province so far unknown or almost.
The plant, located in a strategic position between the Comelico and Sappada valleys, will allow young biathletes in the area to constantly train in optimal conditions both in summer and winter. The objective is also to broaden the number of practitioners of the discipline that for the moment in Veneto is attested to 60 units. The presence on the territory of an appropriate plant is the minimum condition for bringing new boys to this sport.
The event was enriched by the presence of Lisa Vittozzi, a real homeowner. The 1995 class athlete from Sappada is the present and future of the world cup national group, being by far the youngest. It can therefore be said that Comelico and more generally Veneto are all candidates to be the new frontier of the blue biathlon.
